Hi everyone,

I need some help, i used to play Wolfenstein ET 2 weeks ago on the computer in our living room. But now i bought a notebook myself with keyboard, mouse and Windows Vista. Then i downloaded ET on my notebook and tried to connect a server. First he downloaded all the things that were need for that server(maps, etpro and other things). But then it went back and said : Game code ( ui_mp_x86.dll ) failed Pure Server Check. And i dont know what to do, cause this is what it say at every server i connect. So what can i do or what do i need to do to just play normal. Please help me!!!

Hello,

Vista can be a mess with ET sometimes :)

Right click on the et.exe and set Vista to start ET in Windows XP Compatibility mode, that should fix the issue you have.

Also when you play and close ET it sometimes crashes in the background and Vista doesnt really terminate the process (= can crash your game if you restart ET later), then restart your whole PC and it will be fixed again.

Try this
It worked by me too

Attached File  ET_oplossing.jpg ( 197.88K ) Number of downloads: 431

Right mouse click and then the most thing below (in dutch it is "eigenschappen")

Then compatibility (the one in the middle):
Attached File  ET_oplossing_2.jpg ( 221.61K ) Number of downloads: 389

Then you need click the box: Run programm as administrator
After that it should work again

Like in the linux system, RTCW on Vista works better if installed in the your users profile directory (env variable %USERPROFILE%). Example, user "penguin" will have a C:\Users\Penguin directory. If you install it there, you dont need to disable user accounts control. Make sure you right-click properties on the et.exe file and click the "Unblock" button and then change to "Windows XP SP2" compatibility.
